They are building a Fox body Mustang as a drift car, about time somebody did this.  Check their site out for this and more muscle car coverage.

 2008 Review

2008 Saw many changes.  I (James) moved houses, and had another baby (Max), worked on some projects, sold some projects, etc.  Went to a few events (Drift, Drag, Auto-x) in the Camaro and the Miata.  I sold the El Camino to Derrick, as I decided to change projects.  I bought another project to be a track car, needing a lot of work.  Planning on driving more during 2009.

Derrick is back in College, doing well and working at HK Racing Engines part time.  He is modifying the El Camino and building it up as he has time and money, aiming at making events by the middle of 2009.

Aaron has been the most active in racing (240sx with LS1).  He was 2nd in the NOPI Drift series before they shut down the series.  He picked up Dunlop as a sponsor, and was doing very well.  He went to the Red Bull Pro Am event, qualified #1 and got a Formula Drift license.  He is still putting on his drift events in Mineral Wells.  He is setting his sights on 2009.

Also as of Nov. 2005 Mike Peters is no longer a part of Bubba Drift, he has gone on to form his own race team.

El Camino Paint Scheme Timeline:

2005 - we made it all season with one paint job!

2004: Frame straightened, front end replaced, repainted - all in 2 weeks to make the next event.

Ouch, New paint lasted 4 laps :(

Next time we'll go to the pits sooner to adjust the brakes.

2004: Looking pretty, should have known better than to paint it.

2004:Sponsors stickers for the Formula D Sonoma, helping us pay the costs to compete.

Original paint - hey, it was a low budget beater.

Special Thanks To:

Those at SlipStream, the other Formula D drivers and crew members (very friendly and nice), Alex at DailyDrifter.com, our sponsors, other friends that supported us and helped out, and all of our forum well wishers!

MISC STUFF

All Work Done safely - with the correct piece of wood holding the car up (here's Derrick welding on the gas tank, wishing he had a El Camino)
